Inspiration:

Our inspiration for Tech Optimum came from the desire to create a platform that simplifies academic and career management for high school students. We wanted to create a platform allowing students to access a wide range of resources and information in a single place, making their coursework more manageable and enhancing their learning experience. At the same time, we aimed to provide teachers with a platform that allows them to create and manage courses seamlessly, making it easier for them to communicate with students, assign tasks, and grade assignments.

What it does:

Tech Optimum is a comprehensive dashboard platform that enables high school students to manage their courses and internships more efficiently. Teachers can easily create, edit, and delete classes, while students can view, complete, and save their progress. The dashboard keeps track of the course progress the user is in and how many they have started and completed. Additionally, our internship finder feature allows students to search for and apply to internships more efficiently, giving them a better chance of securing valuable work experience. Our plans include making the platform more personalized by integrating A.I. and chatbots to assist students on specific units or topics without giving away the answer.

How we built it:

We built Tech Optimum using Next.js and TypeScript, with JavaScript for the backend and MongoDB for data storage. ChakraUI was our U.I. library for its intuitive design and easy-to-use components. Our team of developers worked collaboratively to build the platform and ensure all its features were implemented seamlessly.

Challenges we ran into:

During the development process, one of our biggest challenges was implementing the app's creation, editing, and deletion features. We also faced numerous other challenges, such as creating functional user storage, creating features like a day streak, and separating completed and in-progress courses. We encountered several bugs, which required us to work collaboratively as a team to overcome them. However, we persevered through these challenges and created a functional and user-friendly platform.

Accomplishments we're proud of:

We are proud to have created a fully functional platform that is easy to use and simplifies course and internship management for high school students. Our team built an intuitive user-friendly interface that allows students to focus on their studies rather than worrying about managing their course materials. We also implemented a wide range of features, such as a course dashboard, internship finder, and user progress tracking, which enhance the user experience and make the platform more useful for students and teachers alike.

What we learned:

During the development process, we learned how to work effectively as a team and navigate the complexities of building a web application with TypeScript. We also gained valuable experience utilizing MongoDB and ChakraUI to create a seamless user experience for our platform's users. We learned how to overcome complex development challenges and developed a functional platform we are proud of.

What's Next for Tech Optimum Dashboard Platform:

Looking to the future, we plan to expand Tech Optimum's features by integrating more student resources and enhancing its internship finder. Our goal is to make Tech Optimum the go-to platform for high school students looking to manage their courses and internships easily while also gaining valuable work experience. We plan to integrate A.I. and chatbots to provide students personalized assistance on specific units or topics without giving away the answer. Additionally, we plan to expand the platform's internship finder feature by providing students with more relevant and tailored internships to help them achieve their professional goals.
