Inspiration

Everyone loves to play a good game, especially in the few busy months of summer. But finding people to play sports with shouldn't be harder than the game itself. I built this website to allow users to find one-time partners, whether they're new in town, friends are busy, or are simply looking for a challenge. In an ever-growing digital world, TeamUp makes sports accessible once again building connections and encouraging users to stay active.

What it does

TeamUp allows users to find one-time sports partners based on skill, age level, and location. Users can input or browse requests for specific sports, during the times when they are free to find teammates and opponents to come out and play, all without needing the people and equipment of a full team.

How I built it

This project was built primarily with PHP connecting the website to a MySQL database. HTML and CSS were used to develop and style the website and JavaScript was used to create a responsive user interface. PHPMailer was used to send update emails.

Challenges I ran into

The most challenging aspect of the project was ensuring the database was able to handle multiple requests simultaneously while keeping all relevant information organized.

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

I'm proud of how the design of website turned out. It has a thorough user interface while remaining clean and easy to use. I was able to incorporate a lot of information while creating a request and browsing presents all the relevant information at a glance.

What I learned

While creating TeamUp, I learned a lot about using databases and specifically gained technical skills with PHP and SQL.

What's next for TeamUp

I plan to host a remote server to allow lots of users to utilize my website at once.
