Abstract
The project aims to create a simple subletting platform for students at the University of Pennsylvania. Current subletting channels include Facebook groups, GroupMe chats, and word of mouth, but students struggle to compare options, and no channel guarantees the identity of the subletters, creating gaps in safety and security. Hideout will allow students to list properties and search for available listings matching various search requirements, including date, price, and location (and filtering by amenities including pet policies, wheelchair accessibility, gym access, and laundry services). It will also help friends who want to room together by showing users other listings at the same address. All users will be required to sign up with a verified Penn email address to ensure safety.
