Meal Magic is a web-based application that seeks to improve the quality and ease in which people receive restaurant recommendations. There are current solutions available, but they include overwhelming characteristic filtering, lack of personalization, and long lists of restaurants that present users with far too many options. In order to provide a better solution and experience, Meal Magic uses a nearest neighbor recommendation algorithm to present personalized, concise lists of recommended restaurants. These recommendations are personalized because they are restaurants that the user has not yet visited which are rated highly by those users most similar to them. Meal Magic hopes to provide an easy to use, yet powerful, recommendation tool to aid in one of the most common dilemmas before going out to eat.
