The human brain is a complicated, interconnected dynamical system. Having a functional model of this system is critical in a number of areas, including the diagnosis of neurodegenerative disease, and the development of brain-computer-interfaces such as prosthetics. Our team is working on a machine learning model that can classify motor tasks using blood-oxygen-level-dependent (BOLD) signals from fMRI, because we want to find a way to improve the way prosthetic limbs and brain-computer interfaces are built and designed. We are packaging this algorithm into a Python application complete with interactive 3D visualizations.
