Inspiration

We saw a gap in modern network protocol education so we sought to create an interactive web app with present-day aesthetics to teach networking concepts.

What it does

Allows the user to test their knowledge in networking and provides real-time feedback as they go along the interactive, educational network quiz.

How we built it

We used a game engine called Godot for the interactive part and then coded a basic website in HTML and CSS to display the game.

Challenges we ran into

Godot was very finicky in terms of using it with git, trying to work on two different scenes on different computers, and working with the entities that were created so that they didn’t have to be pixel-perfect.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We were successfully able to finish the scenes that we wanted to and create a website to display our game.

What we learned

We learned how to integrate Godot into a website, which we initially didn’t think was possible.

What's next for TeachTCP

We want to keep adding different protocols and networking concepts, a learning section for the website that will show video tutorials of the different concepts and better usability and graphics for the game itself.
