Inspiration

Everyday, millions of people travel through taxis. Around 68% of the total rape cases are because of unsafe cabs. Moreover, most of the reported cases fail to identify the criminal because of the lack of evidence and absence of a system to find them. Not only this, but regular taxi users often struggle to pay the correct amount to the driver. The uneducated are fooled to pay more while sometimes the drivers receive way less than what they should.

What it does

The main aim of this web application is to remove fear from people and help cabs become safer. This will help in building trust between customers and cab drivers while also reducing the occurrence of crimes.

How I built it

Next.js for the frontend.

Challenges I ran into

The API I chose betrayed me and didn't send the generated API key within time duration. Rest API's had price limits and yeah :'). I had to create my own data file :').

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

I completed most of the website within the time duration except the tracker :').

What's next for Taxiful

Using existing API's to generate data for every country (only available for India for now). Complete the website :sweat_smile: Implement backend and add user profiles. Make it responsive Connect it with major cab services like Ola and Uber
