Inspiration
We're not keen on letting our money sit stagnant, so naturally, we end up using many trading platforms and discover that most of them lack the simplicity and user-friendliness necessary for the average person. Therefore, when we got the chance to develop one that is supposed to simplify investing, we hopped right on board.
What it does
Tatrinvest's goal is to open up the world of investing to investors from young to old, from rookies to pros, and from the cautious ones to risk-takers, while creating an experience that requires very little from the user to invest. This is achieved through the use of KYC onboarding, gamification, machine learning-powered stock suggestions, a live AI chat, financial literacy courses and much more.
How we built it
Tatrinvest is designed to be inclusive, made for users of all experience levels. While its user-friendly interface caters to new and inexperienced investors, it also offers robust features tailored to meet the needs of experienced users. Developed with technologies such as Next.js (Vercel), PostgreSQL (Neon), MongoDB (Atlas), AUth0 (Okta), PyTorch, NasdaqAPI, and more, Tatrinvest utilizes Python-based machine learning models for data processing. These models predict market movements and recommend stocks to users based on their Know Your Customer (KYC) data, ensuring a seamless and effortless investing experience.
Challenges we ran into
Creating an intuitive, easy-to-use, modern, and feature-rich investment app that aligns with the existing Tatra Banka brand proved to be a challenge within a short timeframe. Analyzing and processing all the data related to the stock market presented the most significant challenge, with AI training coming in as a close second.

We're proud of building an app with actual real-world value that empowers users to take control of their investments, make informed decisions, and navigate the complexities of the financial market with confidence.
What we learned
We found that creating a user-friendly investment app demands both technical know-how and insight into user preferences. Also, we realized the potential and importance of using gamification and AI to improve user experiences and innovate in finance. Above all, we learned a ton about machine learning, AI assistants and user flows.
What's next for Tatrinvest
In all honesty, we believe that Tatrinvest is just a few small steps away from being ready for the public. With the implementation of in-app gamification, continuous learning and interaction and real-world data, Tatrinvest has the potential to become an investment portal for everyone.
