Banking application for kids that widens their financial literacy, teaches them the real value of money and allows parents to see theirs kids activity or to give them ways to earn some money.And more!

Inspiration

Our inspiration comes from children that can´t handle their money and need to be taught how to do that.

What it does

  1. Teaches kids the real value of money (through quizzes and tests about financial world and financial literacy)
  2. Teaches kids how to save money (through rewarding their saving and reminding them to save some!)
  3. Gives children way to earn virtual currency through learning about financial literacy and then use this currency to buy real world items.
  4. Allows parents to watch their child´s balance, to know where and how much did they spent and most importantly, gives them possibility to give "missions" to their kids with rewards (money but also our new virtual currency)
  5. Allows kids to request money and "missions" so they can earn more money from their parents.

How we built it

We built the app using flutter and dart. We tried to fit into corporal identity of the corporation while bringing the mentioned features. For backend we used Express.js.

Challenges we ran into

Backend in GoLang, Standardising our work (deciding on one thing we will do), and teamwork

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We managed to finish backend. And we are trying our best on frontend. We are proud of our original and effective ideas and hopefully we will be able to present them to you.

What we learned

We gained much experience from writing backend. We learned some tips and tricks. Thanks Google!

What's next for TatraBanka app for children

We got more ideas for our app which will need some more time and code. For example, we would like to allow kids to see history of transactions, make more quizzes and create another way how kids could learn or experience the financial world.
