We were inspired by the use of upcycled shirts to create a textile project. We looked to combine the traditional and age-old symbol of Georgia Tech with the changing and growing student body. Many of the shirts provided to us were from events and gatherings hosted by students to grow the community of Georgia Tech. The seams that keep this institute and its traditions alive are the students and faculty, we found this project to be an amazing way to show our gratitude to both.

We created this tapestry using old t-shirts and a large unused curtain. We took inspiration from the Georgia Tech seal to create a tapestry to embody our inspiration. We learned a lot about sewing in a short time period and finding efficient ways to make our vision come alive. The challenges we faced largely had to do with the short timeline, which is to be expected in this kind of event. It challenged us to push our boundaries and understanding of sewing methods.
