Inspiration
Our product was directed by the urge to address the constant miscommunication between project mates due to a lack of planning resources that we have seen in our academic careers.
What it does
Our product facilitates project management with accessible timeline creation, file storage, and communication features.
How we built it
We used a React frontend and a Flask backend, using API calls to structure the code functionality for a dynamically updating, interactive, and easy-to-use interface.
Challenges we ran into
We ran into many merge conflicts and ideation differences due to the complex nature of the code and the need for branching programming sessions, which involved implementing different functionalities in shared folders.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are extremely proud of the product we ended up with in such a short time. We encountered many rookie mistakes and pivoted numerous times. In the end, we achieved a product that is easily accessible, lightweight, and visually appealing.
What we learned
We learned how to work with API calls to facilitate projects that need to branch out and work on many code aspects at a time, and have contemporary features that need to communicate with each other via the calls. Also, we learned how frontend development goes hand-in-hand with backend structure, to create a product that is both sophisticated and stylish.
What's next for synchronus
We hope to improve the product and add more functionality, like workspace video calls with many features to make this the one-stop-shop for all things project management.
