Inspiration
Our project was inspired by many of the games that we previously played. The main parkour theme of the game was inspired by Geometry Dash and SpeedRunners.
What it does
The parkour game consists of multiple levels, each with its unique layout and challenges. The levels are small and not too long, making them quick to play but challenging to master.
How we built it
We used Tiled to create custom maps and used pygame to run the physics and logic of our game.
Challenges we ran into
- incorrect collisions
- ghosting sprites
- getting the player to jump
- switching levels ## Accomplishments that we're proud of
- the game works !!!
- we have a scrolling camera system
- we got collisions to work
- we got jumping to work
- we got the gravity switch to work
- we got level switching to work ## What we learned
- learned how to use Tiled to make a custom map
- learned how to use print statements to work through problems ## What's next for Switch-Up
- making a timer and score so players can keep track of their speeds and high scores
- final level with a slightly different style of gameplay and lasers
- making it so the hitboxes are not painfully bad
