Inspiration
It came to me in a dream after watching too much Youtube
What it does
taking an address and radius, it lets the user get a room with all the restaurants around them. The user can then swipe left or right with a partner they invite in, until they match on a restaurant and get notified for it.
How we built it
I built it using Typescript for both frontend and backend, and Prisma + Postgre for my database. I hosted frontend on vercel and backend on SuperBase
Challenges we ran into
I don't know typescript and have never set up a proper database before, so I had to learn how they worked
Accomplishments that we're proud of
I'm proud that everything works
What we learned
I learnt that setting up databases are painful, but helps a lot in the long run with proper APIs
What's next for SwipeStraunt
I'm planning on further improving the UI and finding a way to include actual logos.
