💡 Inspiration-
4 months ago i lost my uncle, while our family was grieving we had to fill a lot of forms, visit offices and do the long insurance claiming process . The delays, endless paperwork, and lack of transparency made an already difficult time even worse. This moment made me realize how broken the insurance industry is—claims should be approved instantly when a person needs them the most, not weeks or months later. I decided to fix this by building SwiftClaim, an AI and blockchain-powered insurance system that eliminates manual delays and ensures trustless, automated payouts.
⚡ What It Does? -
SwiftClaim is a decentralized insurance platform that automates claim verification using AI, blockchain, and oracles. It eliminates fraud and delays by fetching real-world data—such as hospital records(ABDM- Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission: an initiative by the govt. of india to digitalize health records of each individual) and police reports—via Chainlink oracles. Once verified, a smart contract automatically triggers an event, informing the backend to initiate an instant UPI payout to the claimant. This removes human bias, speeds up the process, and ensures that genuine claims are paid without hassle.
🛠️ How I Built It? -
I used Solidity to write smart contracts that process insurance claims securely. Chainlink oracles fetch real-world data (hospital records, death certificates, accident reports) to verify claims. The backend, built with Node.js and Ethers.js, listens for smart contract events and automatically triggers a UPI payment when a claim is approved. The Web2 frontend was designed for ease of use, allowing users to submit claims with minimal effort. Ensuring smooth Web2-Web3 integration was one of our top priorities, as insurance companies still rely on traditional banking infrastructure.
🚧 Challenges I Ran Into-
One of the toughest challenges was integrating blockchain-based smart contracts with real-world data while ensuring that claims remain fraud-proof. Another major challenge was ensuring scalability and cost efficiency, as high gas fees on Ethereum can make small claims expensive. I optimized our contract logic to reduce costs and explored Layer 2 solutions for better scalability. The UPI integration with smart contracts was another hurdle, as most payment systems are Web2-based.
🏆 Accomplishments That I am Proud Of!_
I won 1st prize at 24hr Hackathon among 200+ participants. Winning this hackathon was a validation of my idea! 🎉 I got funding opportunity for my startup from one of the judges. I successfully built a working prototype that demonstrates how insurance claims can be settled in minutes instead of weeks. This system ensures zero human intervention, making it one of the most trustless, transparent, and fair insurance platforms ever built. I am especially proud of our real-time claim verification mechanism, which could change how insurance companies operate.
📚 What I Learned?
This project taught me how to build and optimize smart contracts, work with oracles for real-world data, and solve Web2-Web3 interoperability challenges. More importantly, I learned how technology can bring real impact, especially in sensitive situations where delays in insurance payouts can make or break a family's financial security.
🚀 What’s Next for SwiftClaim? My next step is to partner with real insurance companies and integrate SwiftClaim into existing insurance workflows. I also plan to expand our oracle integrations, explore Layer 2 solutions for lower transaction costs, and refine AI fraud detection models. My ultimate vision is to revolutionize the insurance industry, ensuring that no family has to suffer unnecessary delays in receiving financial aid during their toughest moments.
This is just the beginning of a new era of trustless, automated insurance! and i want to revolutionize this ₹24.35 trillion industry.
