Inspiration

In rural and urban healthcare, especially for newborns and infants, timely diagnosis can be life-saving.
However, a shortage of trained healthcare professionals and delayed access to medical facilities often lead to preventable complications.
Swasthye Seeshu was born out of the need to empower frontline workers like ASHA workers, parents, and caregivers with AI-powered tools that can detect, assess, and guide in real time, ensuring healthier beginnings for every child.


What It Does

Swasthye Seeshu is an AI-driven infant healthcare platform with a complete end-to-end early diagnosis and support ecosystem.
It offers:

  • Assessment Hub – Quick health surveys and evaluations.
  • Consult Doctor – Connect instantly with pediatric specialists.
  • ASHA Training Hub – Training modules to improve rural healthcare worker skills.
  • Baby ID – Digital health record and unique identity for every baby.
  • Contact Module – Quick access to healthcare support teams.
  • X-Ray Detection – AI model trained to detect abnormalities in infant X-rays.
  • Cough Detection & Analysis – Pre-recorded or live audio detection of cough patterns for illness prediction.
  • Vital Signs Monitoring – Record and track baby vitals.
  • Symptoms Checker – AI-guided symptom input and suggestions.
  • Risk Assessment – Automated calculation of potential health risks.
  • Chatbot Assistant – Instant Q&A for parents and healthcare workers.

How We Built It

  1. AI Model Training
    • Built and trained models for X-ray abnormality detection.
    • Developed cough detection using audio signal processing and deep learning.
  2. Frontend
    • Built with Next.js for smooth user experience and responsive design.
  3. Backend
    • Node.js and Python APIs for AI inference and data processing.
  4. Database
    • Secure storage with Firebase for baby IDs, assessment history, and training progress.
  5. Integration
    • Incorporated chatbot APIs and telehealth consultation features.
    • Audio recording and analysis module integrated into the web app.
  6. Deployment
    • Hosted on Vercel for frontend and cloud services for backend.

Challenges We Ran Into

  • Training accurate AI models with limited pediatric datasets.
  • Balancing accuracy and real-time performance in rural low-bandwidth settings.
  • Integrating multi-modal data (X-rays, audio, vitals) into a unified health record.
  • Ensuring data privacy for infant medical records.
  • Creating a user-friendly UI for both tech-savvy and non-tech-savvy users.
