Inspiration

-Hackathon Theme - Explore the Unknown

What it does

-The Application allows users to keep track of the places they've visited in a new city

How we built it

-We built our Application using a MERN Stack

Challenges we ran into

-Dependency conflicts, Styling format errors, and database fetching errors

Accomplishments that we're proud of

-Putting google maps on our page and having pinned places on the map show up on the side

What we learned

-Projects require a lot of planning ahead of time; make sure that everyone in the group can run the code on their computer

What's next for Discovering Gainesville

-We would expand it from Discovering Gainesville to Discovering Any city on earth -We would have a point system based on the type of location, so if it was a park (environment) they get more points for that, or if they visit a non-profit organization -Users would be able to save their locations and have favorites from every city they've visited
