Today the datasets we have and all use for our models and nations use to take decisions, are slow aggregates of local media ,government or national health departments reports built bottom up through a long chain of intermediaries Are they accurate and trustable ? Do we have data about Number of tests? Do we consider that sensitivity is around 60-70% ? Date of somministration and not date of reporting ?

What it does

A blockchain to trace all swab test for COVID19 or other diseases, from production to testing on the patient, to analysis at the lab A mobile web interface allows to register the ID of the swab test, the ID of the patient (maybe linked to the IT system of the local health institution,) preserving the privacy of the patiens, and some information like position, gender, age, is the patient a doctor or a medical care giver. The lab registers the results on the blockhain getting a payment in points that are used also a reward to the nodes that perform a proof of Stake (to keep low the computation and energy costs and give a hash rate close to a milion transaction per day) Those points can be later on transformed into cash by local institutions and WHO

Accomplishments that we're proud of

this solution can give near real time, reliable, transparent information, without the necessity of intermediaries, about

  • how many swab test we have in stock and where they are
  • how many swab test we have tested on patients
  • the results of those tests stratified by location, gender, sex Preserving the privacy of the patients The value of this proposal is not in the front end, but in the distributed ledger, Based on an open source platform, where among the nodes all the national healthcare institutions can be rapresented This architecture can assure the collaboration of all the partecipants without the necessity of trust among them (some countries could even be in war but still cooperate) to prevent and fight this common threat, saving lifes and money from recession induced countries lockdown

Applicability

Swab tests were available 15 days after viurs isolation for COVID19 Are we still in time for this COVID19 pandemic? Yes because it will be still around for a while with possible more than one peak and more than one season

This solution can be extended to

  • other disease outbreak
  • smart contract with the swab test producer
  • other medial equipments like ventilators
  • other hospital information like:
    • patients hospitalization
    • patients hospitalization requiring intensive care
    • patients recovery or patient death
