Inspiration

Our inspiration came from our love for music. As college students, we have a lot, and time is crucial. We wanted to design a program that not only encouraged us to get to where we had to go in a certain amount of time with the power of music.

What it does

Our program curates a playlist based on user input of transportation, speed, and mood. It pulls from a large playlist based on user input playlist and will give you a brief summary of what was created.

How we built it

We built our program using python. From the PySimplyGUI module, we were able to design a website to create a basic idea of what it would look like. Then we used Spotify API to pull songs from a large playlist we have created that will modify based on the user input data.

Challenges we ran into

A challenge we ran into was formatting the text on our app. The text was really tricky and it took a coupe of imports of new modules we have never used to create the app and make sure we made it aesthetically pleasing.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud of how the user interface is really unique. And connect what we face daily and create a possible solution for it and how it contributes to different aspects of sustainability.

What we learned

We learned how to work together as a team. All of us have different levels of coding experiences, some were more on the creative side others were more on the data mining side etc. Overall everything worked out and we made a good product.

What's next for Sustainify: A Spotify Playlist Generator

We would like to make it able to be more personalized to the user's Spotify account and use the curated playlist Spotify already makes so the user can experience their own preferences when it comes to music.
