Inspiration - Our group was made up of a bunch of competitive people. We knew we wanted to integrate a competitive experience to not only keep our app engaging, but also to draw people in.

What it does - currently, our app displays a home page swell as the beginnings of a login screen.

How we built it - We used Django to create the bulk of the website and HTML/CSS for the rest. Python was our primary language due to Django being run closely with it. HTML was used for our front end design. We also used git/GitHub to work collaboratively with each other.

Challenges we ran into - We faced a lot of challenges from the start of the project. Probably because we had never used Django before this event. Getting the repository set up was challenging and took hours. It also didn't help when we accidentally deleted some of the files and had to restart from scratch. Over the remaining twenty or so hours, we had trouble adding SQL databases, HTML scripts, and images. We ended up having to create multiple websites to load files onto in order to call them to our main site.

Accomplishments that we're proud of - As a group, we are proud of the web app we were able to make. While we wanted to make more, we were able to learn multiple new skills and languages. Going into this, half of our group had never even used python before. We were able to create more than we realistically expected to and were able to troubleshoot along the way. We were also able to learn multiple important skills for our future such as git and GitHub. Additionally, we were able to get a lot of experience out of this event and network with a lot of others in the field.

What we learned - _We learned Django, python, git, and gitHub. We were also able to increase out knowledge of HTML and CSS. We learned how to collaborate with others, create websites, and look through documentation. _

What's next for SustainaRanked - Over the next few months, we plan to publish SustainaRanked into an actual website. We hope it can be used for educational purposes in schools to teach kids about their carbon footprint, as well as by the general public for fun. We have a plan to finish some of the backend databases over the next few weeks after school swell as re-add the other pages in HTML.
