Inspiration

CO2 is one of the main greenhouse gases that are causing global warming, and we would like to see how countries around the world are contributing to it.

What it does

A user can input a country and a time interval, and we will show you how this country's CO2 emission is changing over the time interval. We also linked resources that might help you understand why the country's CO2 emission is changing. In addition, you can set certain green standards of total CO2 emission over the time interval you set. The countries that are below the standard line will show up in green.

How we built it

We used Shiny for Python to build the web page, MatplotLib for the plot, and Ipyleaflet for the maps.

Challenges we ran into

Learning to build a web page for the first time is difficult, and learning to use new packages isn't easy.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We can show the plots and maps.

What we learned

We gained practice of using Shiny for Python, MatplotLib, and Ipyleaflet.

What's next for SustainabilityWorldMap

We can make the map more informative by ranking the CO2 emissions and color each country based on the different levels of emissions.
