Inspiration
- Our team members are fairly environmentally conscious, so when we say that one of the prompts was related to sustainability, we knew that we wanted to create a project related to this prompt.
What it does
- It gives missions that promote sustainability to users. When users complete each mission, the points associated with each mission are added to the user's account, which is reflected on the leaderboard.
How we built it
- We used Reactjs and CSS to create the front end of the website. We used Firebase to store user data and mission data.
Challenges we ran into
- We had issues with retrieving data from the database as well as formatting the website correctly using CSS. We also ran into logic problems when displaying the leaderboard.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
- We're happy that it works and does what it is intended to do.
What we learned
- We learned more about Reactjs and working with databases. We also improved our communication and time management skills!
What's next for Team New Jeans
- After some further modifications, we hope to put this website on the web so that other users may be encouraged to become more sustainable in a fun and easy way!
