Inspiration

We were inspired to make something that would allow people, but more specifically, women, to feel safe walking out alone at night.

What it does

Our project allows people to report about suspicious activities and allows others in the area to see these warnings and plan around it.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We successfully implemented database with posts and addresses which was a challenging step with lots of time spent trying to set up the database. Another accomplishment was converting the coordinates to addresses and vice versa through geocoding.

What we learned

Our team learned many new APIs and libraries to bring the Suspicious Track together.

What's next for Suspicious Tracker

We plan to make the map better as there are plenty of bugs right now and style the website better. The login feature also is currently unavailable which allows anyone to post without an account. A spam filter and a feature to make reports disappear after an amount of time are also needed.
