Inspiration
Our inspiration for this project was to be able to innovate a solution to provide a resource to patients to be approached with solutions starting with empathy. In its parallel, we also wanted to allow providers a solution to deliver the highest quality of care in the most productive manner possible.
What it does
Surverity is an online survey platform with it's in built custom algorithm allows both patient and care-providers to productively communicate to allow the best possible transition to perform care. Starting off with a simple survey with basic questions, Surverity guides the patient or non-professional caregiver through pre-evaluating the patient to effectively come up with the next steps the user should follow to ensure the best care. The results will be collected to the patients account to be used by the provider to re-evaluate any extra visits Surverity suggests based on the severity score calculated at the end of the survey. This score is not seen by the patient or professional, but will be showed to the professional on a scale of low risk (to recommend added steps) up to high risk (visit in 24 hours or less).
How we built it
First, we brainstormed how we wanted to implement user engagement and how it would look. Then each We assigned each other specific tasks while using ReactNative as our main IDE. Finally, we merged each of our tasks together and edited small details of the app to make a more user-friendly interface.
Challenges we ran into
Learning to implement the front end to the back end of our project
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We were able to join together as a team to reach the best possible outcome of an app that has the potential to aid both the patient as well as the provider to allow both sides to benefit and to the increase patient engagement.
What we learned
Strides in learning about full stack development, pivoting when our ideas went south, and teamwork in brainstorming.
What's next for Surverity
The next steps for Surverity would be to implement AI to allow to better tips for non-professional caregiver to help with problems their patient might face, a system to stack tickets of the higher severity (visit ASAP) patients to automatically open a case for doctors in that speciality to attend to them in the most productive manner possible with added speed.
