Inspiration
One of our members was a former content creator. From that experience, he realized that the biggest time-waster he had was responding to and reading through email brand deals.
What it does
Content creators can use our platform and use it to not only track their brand deals on a dashboard, but also use AI to reply to the brand deal. In short, it simplifies the back-and-forth conversation between brands and content creators, which is usually repetitive.
How we built it
- Used 4 Fetch. AI agents to perform different parts of the brand deal management
- Have fallback systems in place as well
- Frontend is using Vite, React, Typescript, and CSS
- Backend is using Node.js, Express, Typescript
- AI/ML is dependent on the Gemini API as well ## Challenges we ran into
- Integrating the Gmail API into the application required integrating various APIs ## Accomplishments that we're proud of Given our tight timeline (one week), we are very proud of how much work we accomplished within it. We found a problem, built a working solution from the ground up, and have already found social media creators who our enthusiastic about the idea.
What we learned
We learned how many people can have similar problems that need solutions. Our friend Justin had trouble managing his emails, so we assumed other creators would feel the same. We were right. It was really eye-opening to see how Justin’s problem was something so many other people had.
What's next for Surge
Seeing that we have gained positive interest and verbal commitments to buy our product, we hope to see the idea through as a team. We look forward to finalizing our app, getting paying customers, and networking more in the industry.
