Inspiration

Doing assignments at midnight alone is not a fun experience. An overwhelming workload give both physical and mental damage to students' bodies and soul

What it does

Simultaneous answers: we are here when students need us the most; answer a variety of questions, from linear algebra to the ultimate point of life If the above-mentioned doesn’t work: register for a one-on-one in-person weekly study session If the above-mentioned still doesn’t work & you still need help to defeat negative emotions: The life-is-too-hard hotline on call 24/7

How we built it

The front end is coded with HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript. The framework we have chosen is React.js The backend language is also JavaScript The database we are using is Appwrite The version control we are using is Git and Github

Challenges we ran into

What should we do to help students feel not as stressed? (even though we are stressed ourselves) How should we finish this project in time? (oh no even thinking of that makes me panic) No sleep We don't actually have something as helpful as Support-me to help us :(

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We made something within the limited time frame (trust me the original proposal is a masterpiece and right now it's something) We cooperate well. Everyone is working in the field he/she is an expert at. We communicate with each other when encountered a problem (sadly even though I want to help our back-end developer I can't) We have a new friend joining us and he is actually amazing. We get along with each other and we worked so hard together We tried everything we can. We learned a lot. We enjoyed the experience

What we learned

Cooperation is the key - contribute whatever you can, and respect each other's opinions. The resources we currently have to support student academically and mentally is not enough. We should have spent less time brainstorming, but we actually came up with lots of solid points Hackathon is fun

What's next for SupportMe

We will work on finishing the detailed function of SupportMe as a group (if we have time; hopefully, we do). This is the outcome of 25h times 4 hours of diligent work. We are going to memorize our first project
