What Inspired Us to Create Startplexity

The inspiration behind Startplexity came from our experience developing startup ideas. We wanted to build something that could help us succeed in this hackathon, and that's how we came up with an AI-powered tool that helps you develop your startup ideas.

What it does

Startplexity is a web tool that helps turn your startup ideas into actionable plans. Powered by Perplexity AI, it takes a simple idea and generates:

A startup summary and concept overview
Key documents like a pitch outline or business plan
Marketing suggestions and target audience insights
Areas for improvement and development advice
Success analytics and an overall viability rating

How we built it

We built Startplexity using React for the frontend and integrated Perplexity AI via API calls on the backend. We handled data with JSON, used context providers for state management, and troubleshooted issues like 404 and 401 errors during development.

Challenges we ran into

We ran into several fetching challenges, having issues with our site requesting the API, and more.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We're proud to have built a functional AI-powered tool from scratch in a short time. We successfully integrated Perplexity, learned to connect frontend and backend systems, and overcame technical challenges. Most of all, we're proud that Startplexity can genuinely help others bring their startup ideas to life.

What we learned

Throughout the project, we learned how to make API requests to Perplexity, connect our backend to the frontend, and troubleshoot common issues like 404 and 401 errors. We also gained experience with JSON formatting, context providers, React, API querying, and more.

What's next for Startplexity

Overall, we had a fun and exciting time building Startplexity. We want to include more data visualizations, such as market trends and success rates, demographic information tied to a website, and more.
