Inspiration
We were inspired by a need in our club to have an easy-to-use control platform for the Sumo-Wrestling robot competition.
What it does
The app allows the user to control power to the two drive motors installed on the Demo Robots through two sliders.
How we built it
We built the app using React-Native, the Expo framework, and C++ for the ESP32-side Bluetooth code.
Challenges we ran into
It was our first time working with React-Native and connecting technologies with Bluetooth.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We achieved consistent motor control and added some functionality for customizing motor pins.
What we learned
We learned that there are always friendly hackers around that can offer help when we're struggling to debug our code.
What's next for SumoApp
Next, we plan on adding Joystick controls.
