Sugar Equivalent Converter

Inspiration

We were inspired by the sugary diets of many and wanted to provide a more relatable perspective as to the true depth of how much sugar people are consuming.

What it does

Takes an input of a certain food and outputs its sugar content in terms of Oreos.

How we built it

We built this program using Repl.it and the beautiful soup web scraper tool.

Challenges we ran into

We ran into issues with the web scraper in that it would often not find the correct HTML content.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud of our ability to adapt our program to provide decent functionality on a small time constraint.

What we learned

We learned about the importance of time management in that we spent too much time on small issues, while we could have prioritized others.

What's next for Sugar Equivalent Converter

We will likely expand it to provide greater information regarding user nutrition.
