Navigating a wiki without a structured menu can be overwhelming and inefficient, a common challenge for organizations using Confluence for knowledge management. We envisioned a solution to simplify complex wikis, ensuring users find information intuitively without frustration.

Our inspiration grew from the increasing number of customers transitioning to Confluence Cloud. We aimed to deliver a seamless experience by maintaining SubSpace Navigation's powerful features and ensuring smooth data migration. The Forge migration model guided us, enabling fully automated migrations and preventing data loss during cloud transitions.

What It Does

SubSpace Navigation adds structured, intuitive menus to Confluence to solve disorganization issues. Key features include:

Personalized Menus: Create site-wide menus linking to spaces, pages, blogs, or CQL queries.
Flexible Configuration: Customize menu visibility by space, icons, and colors.
Multiple Menus: Manage different navigation setups across Confluence spaces.
Multi-language Support: Display menus in users' configured languages.

SubSpace Navigation ensures no professional wiki feels incomplete or chaotic.

How We Built It

Originally a Data Center app, we transitioned SubSpace Navigation to Forge to leverage:
