Inspiration

SubHub was inspired by the common dilemma faced by students when they need to leave their apartments for summer break. Finding someone trustworthy to sublease their apartment can be challenging and time-consuming. We wanted to create a solution that simplifies this process and fosters a sense of community among students.

What it does

SubHub provides a platform for students to easily list their apartments for subleasing during summer breaks. Users can create listings with details about their apartments, search for available subleases, communicate securely with potential subletters, and finalize agreements. It streamlines the subleasing process, making it convenient and reliable for students.

How we built it

SubHub was built using a combination of frontend and backend technologies. The frontend is built with Chakara, AWS, and React to create a user-friendly interface. The backend is powered by Node.js and Express.js.

Challenges we ran into

One of the challenges we faced was figuring out how to use AWS to create a user-friendly interface and showing an interactive map of the Toronto area. Another struggle we faced was integrating the front end and back end due to time constraints. Finally, getting the create-property endpoint to
