Inspiration

The idea for StudyBuddy was born out of a collective desire to enhance the student learning experience. Recognizing the challenges students face in collaborating with peers, we aimed to create a solution that fosters connections, facilitates group study, and makes the learning journey more enjoyable.

What We Learned

Throughout the development process, we gained valuable insights into web development, teamwork, and user experience design. Collaborating on this project allowed us to deepen our understanding of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and Node.js. We also honed our skills in database management using SQL.

Building the Project

The project was built collaboratively during the Hack for Humanity 2024 Hackathon, where time constraints pushed us to work efficiently. We started with brainstorming sessions to define key features, user interactions, and the overall platform architecture. Dividing tasks based on individual strengths and interests, we seamlessly integrated frontend and backend components.

Challenges Faced

One of the main challenges was ensuring a smooth user experience while implementing features like class-specific connections and the friendship system. Debugging and refining the code within the limited time frame of the hackathon required quick thinking and effective communication. Overcoming these challenges strengthened our problem-solving skills and teamwork.

Future Plans

As we move forward, we plan to refine StudyBuddy based on user feedback and expand its features. Our goal is to create a comprehensive and user-friendly platform that continues to meet the evolving needs of students in their academic journeys.

StudyBuddy is not just a project; it's a reflection of our commitment to making a positive impact on the educational experience by fostering collaboration and community among students.
