Inspiration

Students today have access to countless learning tools, but very few help them understand why they struggle or how their study habits affect performance. Most platforms only provide feedback after exams when it’s already too late.

We wanted to build a system that gives students real-time insight into their learning behavior and helps them study smarter, not harder.

What it does

StudyPulse AI is an AI-powered learning analytics platform that analyzes live study session data to:

Identify weak topics and learning gaps

Detect early signs of burnout and fatigue

Visualize progress with real-time dashboards

Provide explainable, personalized study recommendations

Motivate students through streaks, achievements, and progress tracking

Unlike traditional tools, StudyPulse AI focuses on how students study, not just their final results.

How we built it

Frontend: React with a modern dark-mode UI, animations, and interactive charts

Backend: FastAPI for real-time data ingestion and analysis

AI / ML: Behavioral analysis using accuracy, response time, consistency, and trends

Explainable AI: A chatbot that explains insights in human-readable language

Data Flow: Live study inputs → instant analysis → real-time feedback

The system was designed to be transparent, ethical, and beginner-friendly while still demonstrating meaningful AI usage.

Challenges we ran into

Designing AI logic that works well with small, real-time data

Balancing explainability with meaningful insights

Building a responsive UI that updates instantly with live data

Avoiding black-box AI decisions while keeping recommendations useful
