Our team consists of 4 members, Joel Palmer, Aelyssa Marquez, Isabella Capocci and Livia Brookes. For our project we decided to build a website called Study Time! designed to help to you study or work more efficiently. As not everyone has access to a library or a study space 24/7, working in your room can be hard as there are many distractions. Our website aims to help. After brainstorming ideas, we created a list of features we wanted to include such as a timer, a minigame, a to do list and music playlists. We then assigned each feature to a member of the group. Using github we were all able to add and make changes to the website. When all features were added, we worked on making it look more aesthetically pleasing. I will now show off our website and how it works. The background colour is blue which has been proven to boost productivity. In the top left, we have our music feature. There are multiple playlists to choose from. On the right we have a timer and to do list. Both can be hidden or shown using these two buttons here. At the end of the timer, a minigame pops up. The timer can be changed but as default is 25 minutes for studying, 5 minutes for a short break and 20 minutes for a long break. To use the to do list, you simply enter a task in this text box here. Then you can that task is finished like this. The minigames appears in the bottom left during breaks. Using arrow keys to move and right click to shoot you have to destroy all the asteroids without being hit. The website is hosted on Amazon Website Services. The theme was breaking boundaries. We are not only breaking the boundaries of online learning but pushing our own. This is all our first Hackathon and none of us have had much experience with HTML and Javascript before which makes this task not easy. It was also our first time using AWS. As a team we worked well together communicating and splitting up the tasks. This has been a huge learning experience for everyone. Not only have we improved our coding skills but we learnt how to work in a team of people who we had never met before.
