Inspiration
Our inspiration for developing Study Jam stemmed from a common problem observed on college campuses. We noticed that many students studying similar subjects in the library were unaware of the potential benefits of collaboration and effective study practices.
What it does
Study Jam is a feature-rich mobile application that empowers users to create accounts, organize study events, and participate in study groups. By considering factors such as location, date, and time, the app enables users to conveniently join study sessions tailored to their needs.
How we built it
We undertook the development of Study Jam utilizing a powerful tech stack comprising Flutter, Android Studio, and Dart programming language. This allowed us to harness the full potential of these cutting-edge tools and frameworks in creating a robust mobile application.
Challenges we encountered
Embarking on this project involved a significant learning curve for all team members, as it marked our first foray into Dart, Android Studio, and mobile app development as a whole. This was also several team members' first hackathon! The process of setting up a new integrated development environment (IDE) and familiarizing ourselves with the intricacies of the technology stack posed considerable challenges.
Accomplishments we're proud of
We take great pride in successfully realizing our initial vision for Study Jam. Our journey began with the creation of a simple wireframe in Figma, and we are thrilled with how closely the final app aligns with our original design. This achievement underscores our commitment to delivering a polished and user-friendly application.
Lessons learned
Throughout the development of Study Jam, we acquired a solid foundation in app development using Flutter, Dart, and Android Studio. This valuable experience allowed us to explore the nuances of these technologies and gain proficiency in leveraging them to build innovative mobile solutions.
What's next for Study Jam
Looking ahead, we have an exciting roadmap for Study Jam. Our plans include incorporating additional features such as a messaging system to facilitate communication between event organizers and participants, enhancing the overall UI/UX design to provide an intuitive and visually appealing experience, and ultimately deploying the application to a wider audience.
