Inspiration

Often times making flashcards from in class notes takes too long and can get boring fast especially when you are trying to study while racing a deadline like an upcoming quiz or test.

What it does

Our web app takes audio files, copy and pasted text, pdf, docx, txt or md file and convert it to flashcards. Those notes can also be turned into a quiz that can be taken solo and will track your score or it can be turned into a multiplayer game that will keep track of each persons score who is participating in a leaderboard. Lastly the flashcards generated can be exported to excel, csv, json, and md to be able to put into other services like quizlet or kahoot.

Challenges we ran into

  • API Gateway
  • Bedrock
  • Multiplayer Functionality

Accomplishments that we're proud of

  • Connecting all of our app to different AWS services
  • Converting the multiple different file types and allowing their exports

What we learned

  • Tailwind
  • Vite
  • AWS Bedrock
  • React

What's next for Study Buddy

  • Permanent web deployment to accumulate a user base
  • Adding a variable amount of flashcards instead of the 7 you are limited to
