Study Buddy was inspired by the challenge students face in quickly understanding complex topics and staying engaged while studying. It’s an AI-powered web app that turns any topic into a short summary and a personalized quiz in seconds, making learning faster and more interactive. We built it using React and Tailwind CSS for the frontend, and Node.js with Express for the backend, connecting to OpenAI’s API to generate dynamic study content. Challenges included prompt engineering for reliable quiz formatting and integrating frontend-backend communication smoothly on Replit. We’re proud to have created a full-stack educational tool with real-time AI integration under hackathon pressure. Along the way, we learned how to leverage GPT for learning applications, design intuitive UIs, and manage backend logic efficiently. In the future, we plan to add user profiles, progress tracking, subject-specific modes, and multilingual support to make Study Buddy even more powerful and inclusive.
