Inspiration

Since we are all students, studying is an essential part of life. When studying with existing websites such as Quizlet, we were faced with the boredom of reviewing flashcards over and over again. Instead of this boring approach to studying, we decided to create a website that would make studying fun by using a game.

What it does

Ever wondered if quizzes can be fun too? We have got you covered! On our app you can create your custom fun quizzes, share it with your friends and have fun with our interactive quiz gaming experience. Don't have any friends interested to participate? Well worry not, hop on the website to enjoy the quizzes others made for the community and compete with people across the globe to conquer the top position on our Global Leaderboard.

How we built it

TrendSetter was built on the Next.js framework to make the application more dynamic. In order to store the data, we used Firebase Realtime Database. Along with that, for the design and UI of our project we used Tailwind CSS to make the fun experience even more better.

Challenges we ran into

We faced a lot of challenges, the first challenge was to find out the idea which is both cool and feasible to build within the given deadline. Integrating backend and frontend was in particularly one of the most challenging tasks. There were a lot of bugs here and there but we worked as a team and somehow managed to finish the project right in time.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud of building a fully functional web application which turned out to be what we had been planning right from the very beginning. TrendSetter might be helpful for quite a large audience size, and we as a team would be extremely happy if we could make quizzes fun for even few people around the world.

What we learned

We got to learn a lot about various tech including Next.js, Tailwind CSS, Node.js, etc. but as a team we got to learn working in teams. All 4 of the team members were in drastically different time zones, but we learnt how to co-operate and get things done on time.

What's next for TrendSetter

We believe there is a lot of potential in this project to become even better, like making the quizzes more interactive and customizable, adding audio and video elements in the quizzes, improving the overall gaming. In terms of accessibility, we can integrate more social media platforms for logging onto our application.
