Studs

Inspiration

Due to our current uncertain climate, we wanted to make an application that would spark productivity and collaboration among students. We realize that students interacting completely online takes away from social interaction. We hope to make a difference.

What it does

Studs help students find like-minded individuals to produce better study results. We have implemented a recommendation system that will help Studs match with more relevant users.

How we built it

Our front-end is built in Vue, back-end in go / postgresql, reccomendation system in python/flask using a graph, and we locate the student and other study groups using google-maps-api.

Challenges we ran into

The majority of the group was unfamiliar with Vue. We ran into issues with the software, connecting our backend golang and flask, and staying on track.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We were able to implement the majority of our front-end/ back-end, and we were even able to complete the workflow for the recommendation system.

What we learned

We learned more about modern frameworks and how to implement different aspects of our project.

What's next for Studs

New features, reworked development, real-time systems, chat function.
