Inspiration
The need to be able to stream content in low-internet conditions is urgent, especially in regions like some African countries where access to information is limited.
What it does
Stream Right is a platform that facilitates live streaming and video compression while also providing authentication for security. Users can post articles, blogs, and audio files. Additionally, Stream Right allows users to post YouTube links for live streaming or uploaded videos. Users can also compress videos locally for project purposes.
How we built it
We utilized the Flask framework to develop the streaming application, implement blog posting functionality, and integrate video compression.
Challenges we ran into
Initially, we faced difficulties in linking the video compression for local purposes, but we eventually resolved this issue.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We have successfully developed a site where people can live stream efficiently without compromising on quality even in low-internet conditions.
What we learned
We gained insights into creating a streaming website and overcoming technical challenges in implementing features like video compression.
What's next for Stream Right
Our next step is to seek partnerships with other organizations in the streaming field to further enhance and expand Stream Right's capabilities.
