Inspiration

The desire to offer users a lighthearted and interactive experience. Not only is it enjoyable, but it is also personable in how users can interact with characters that respond to their prompts. Additionally, the concept of generating future stories narrated by a speaker adds an extra layer of novelty and entertainment.

What it does

Select either a playful and curious polar bear, a kind and sensitive bird, or a fierce and strong dragon. Enter a prompt and enjoy a special story told from the perspective of your character's unique personality. Images and text are generated and the story is narrated by a speaker.

Follow our colourful characters as they generate & narrate unique stories that are guaranteed to entertain. With a simple prompt, you can unlock boundless creativity.

How we built it

We used python, javascript, react, flask, google-cloud, figma, llama2, elevenlabs.

Challenges we ran into

As is customary with CS projects, we ran into lots of annoying bugs. It took a huge learning curve for all of us to persevere through these challenges and understand how to complete the project.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud of persevering through the many challenges we faced and learning more about computing science in the mere span of 24 hours.

What we learned

We learnt so much more about languages, frameworks, platforms, cloud services, databases, and APIs!

What's next for Story Time

• Creating longer stories and more images
• Adding more characters with unique personalities
• Having the option to choose different narrators to read the story out loud
