Inspiration
We were inspired by Alan Turing's Standard Turing Machines (STM) (...and the STM strikes in Montreal).
What it does
Our project is a game where you can crash metro trains by throwing bananas on the tracks. If you cause enough disruptions, you can win the game by inciting a public riot, making public transportation free for everyone!
Challenges we ran into
Because we have little experience with game development, it was difficult to integrate the backend, frontend, the website with the game, and to integrate the game with the graphics.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We're proud that we attempted to make a game when we have very little experience with it. For some of us, it was also the first time to use AI tools such as Gemini/Google AI Studios.
What we learned
We learned more about Unity, C#, TypeScript, CSS, game development. For some of us, it was our first time to try using AI tools such as Google AI Studio with troubleshooting, so that was also interesting to learn. It was also our first time trying to draw pixel art for a game!
What's next for STM Crashers
We will continue working on integration with Unity after the hackathon!
