Every startup dreams big, but most forget one crucial foundation — security. In the race to launch features fast, many early-stage teams unknowingly expose sensitive data, use outdated dependencies, or neglect web safety headers. We wanted to change that.
Startup Surakshate was born from one simple belief:
“Innovation should never be the reason for vulnerability.”
It’s our attempt to make cybersecurity accessible, automated, and AI-driven — especially for new-age founders building the future.

Startup Surakshate is an AI-powered cybersecurity assistant for startups. It scans a startup’s GitHub repository or website, detects potential security risks, and explains them in simple, actionable language.
Key Features:
🧾 Repo Scanner: Finds outdated packages, exposed API keys, or unsafe configs.
🌐 Website Scanner: Checks for missing headers, mixed content, or phishing-like behavior.
🤖 AI Insights: Uses GPT-based analysis to summarize issues and suggest quick fixes.
🧩 Dashboard: Clean, minimal UI showing vulnerabilities categorized by severity.
📄 PDF Reports: One-click downloadable security reports for founders & investors.
🧪 Demo Mode: Always shows a working sample scan, even offline.

We built everything in under 24 hours, completely powered by AI-assisted development tools.

We relied heavily on AI tools for code, content, and design, focusing on creativity and workflow speed rather than hand-written code.
⚔️ ##Challenges we ran into
Integrating multiple APIs (Supabase, OpenAI, Snyk) within 24 hours.
Handling API timeouts for large repositories.
Keeping the UI simple yet professional for non-technical founders.
Balancing between real scanning and AI-based simulation for the MVP.
Learning FastAPI, Supabase, and deployment pipelines simultaneously while racing the hackathon clock.

Built a fully functional MVP that actually scans and analyzes websites & repos.
Created an end-to-end flow — from input → analysis → AI summary → PDF report.
Designed a minimal, futuristic UI (grey theme + black shield).
Managed to ship a demo-ready product within 1 day, completely AI-assisted.
Most importantly, turned a creative cybersecurity concept into a working prototype that can scale beyond hackathons.
