Inspiration

As a frontend engineer and designer, I noticed how hard it was for new founders to go from an idea in their head to something they could pitch, validate, or build around. So I asked myself:

"What if a founder could describe their idea in a sentence and instantly get a professionally structured startup brief in return?"

What it does

The idea was simple: use Perplexity's Sonar API to generate:

  • A one-line business summary
  • Market research insights
  • Competitor analysis
  • MVP feature ideas
  • Monetization strategies ...all displayed in a beautiful, modern UI with export/share capabilities.

How I built it

The brains of my app is Perplexity API. I used NextJS, TypeScript, TailwindCSS, Lucide React to build the frontend. I used Postman to troubleshoot any API issues. I used Cloudflare for the backend. I used Vercel to deploy.

Challenges I ran into

  • Troubleshooting API issues
  • Wrangling Tailwind
  • There were a few npm packages I wanted to use, but they caused too many issues

Accomplishments that we're proud of

I worked through tons of bugs and setbacks, but I really like the finished product.

What we learned

I learned that I really love making apps with Perplexity AI.

Let's polish it a bit more and monetize it.
