Inspiration
There has been a rise of really cool apps like Obscurify that go through a user's Spotify data and provide insight. None that we've found have managed to merge to users' tastes to create playlists for both to enjoy.
What it does
The app asks for the two users' spotify usernames and displays all their public playlists. They can then choose one from each list to merge.
How we built it
We divided the work among the four of us. Ryan worked on getting the Google Cloud and Flask working with our app. Mary and Ivan made the webpages, and Mary, Ivan and Casilda worked on the backend with python.
Challenges we ran into
We had to learn a lot of new things in a very short time frame, like working with the Spotify user authorisation, and how to use Flask and Google Cloud to host the site. We also had to find a way to create Spotify codes for our new playlists, which was challenging.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We picked a project that was the perfect length, while still teaching us a lot. For most of us on the team, this was our first hackathon, so we're pretty proud of managing to submit a complete project in time.
