Inspiration

We were inspired by the writings of Emerson Royal who said that "The advice of a friend weighs much more than that of a stranger." In that sense, we wanted to create a "friend" to recommend music for you.

What it does

Essentially, we use the spotify API to read in information about the user like top artists or top songs, and then we recommend a playlist of songs.

How we built it

We used the Spotify API to do a lot of the work, but there was a decent amount of work to be done to connect the pieces and get the final product.

Challenges we ran into

It was definitely difficult brainstorming the idea, and we had to try multiple routes before we could execute this one.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

That we finished this project, felt like we wouldn't at some points.

What we learned

Good understanding of the Spotify API and general API calls.

What's next for Spotify Music Recommender
