Inspiration
Our friend told us about his struggle coming to this country and how he felt lonely when he first arrived and struggled to connect with people. He wished that something like this application existed.
What it does
A User can invite someone to have breakfast, lunch or dinner with them and in turn they would be open to receiving two invites from other users. Each user provides their cultural background and food they would like to try. Encouraging users to be inclusive and diversifying their network.
How we built it
It was built using React and Material UI
Challenges we ran into
We ran into version control control issues, and our overall lack of experience collaborating using GitHub continuously broke our code but we kept trying regardless.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We're proud of how hard we all worked despite the challenges, despite the lack of experience, despite the shortcomings we powered through.
What we learned
We got to review a lot of React Fundamentals.
What's next for Spoon
We'll continue to work on the project to deliver a polished product.
