Inspiration

On average more than 11,000 home fans are traveling to Regensburg Continental Arena for each SSV Jahn Game. 70% of them coming by car. Having the car usually only filled with 2 people. This means about 3,850 cars approaching the stadium looking for a parking lot. Only home fans. Considering we only have 1,800 available parking lots at the Continental Arena, more than 2,000 parking spaces are missing. Not only is that extremely nerve wracking, but also strongly inefficient and not environmently friendly at all.

So how can we change that?

We want to connect the Jahnfamily. Bring them all together - zum Spieltag, mit SPIELTAG.

What it does

After purchasing your ticket directly in SPIELTAG or uploading the QR Code of your existing ticket to the app, you can choose between four options to travel to the game.

First: you can find a Heimsiegtrip you can join

Second: you can offer a Heimsiegtrip others can join

Third: you can join the Jahnfamily's Heimsiegkorso with your bike

Fourth: you can take the Heimsiegexpress and travel with the Jahnfamily by train

If you choose option one, to join a Heimsiegtrip, you check the map to find a Jahnfamily member that may go your way. Request a ride and wait for acceptance. DONE. You are off to enjoy the game, and your Heimsiegtrip, with your Jahnfamily.

How we built it

With love, passion and the goal to create something great. Always having the ONE Jahnfamily in the back of our minds. With lots of inspiring talks with Jahnfamily members, feedback sessions and a constantly nicely filled stomach.

Challenges we ran into

Are we working towards right direction? Is Datedif still valid function for Excel? Do people in the US really own season ticket subscription or why is PowerBI showing that? Why does MAC not allow opening shared presentation in PowerPoint Desktop App? How much red colour can the pitchdeck contain?

And lack of sleep. Mainly.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Building something, that does not have a solely financial incentive. Focusing on bringing people together rather than making money. Having a solution that has the potential to connect the Jahnfamily.

Being a little family ourselves while working. Not giving up and giving in sleep.

What we learned

To be a Jahnfan you don't need to live in Regensburg. Jahn fans are spread over whole of Germany. Even in Vienna there is one loyal fan owning a season ticket.

A great team is the the most important part of work. Having a fantastic office can only make everything better.

What's next for SPIELTAG

First: Validate the prototype. Start a pilot run.

Second: Implement feedback. Remove bugs.

Third: Set up Bus System for away games. We see high potential in that one.

Fourth: Include online shop.
