SpeedyFpdf

Inspiration

Our homework needed to be in pdf when submitted hence we had to waste a lot of time in converting our homework from jpg to pdf online hence we made simplified it by making an app.

What it does

The software simply converts all type of images extensions to pdf with an easy user interface.

How I built it

We used java for making this application. We used quite a bit of java libraries for coding this application like Java fx and Java Itext which helped us to have a user interface which could be modified as per our interests.

Challenges I ran into

We ran into several challenges but the main one which took us a lot of time was combining the java fx into the maven project, then as there were new versions of the programs, therefore, we didn't know which methods were outdated or which were the current. Surprisingly we had a hard time trying to decide the name of the application.

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

We did it even after many errors, we gained a lot of experience while doing this, we learned stuff which was not taught in college which helped us understanding heavy and new concepts of java.

What I learned

I learned to use the maven dependencies, developing a user interface with the help of java and learned to separate tasks and work as a team and follow the plan.

What's next for SpeedyFpdf

We are thinking to upgrade SpeedyFpdf to have some better features like merging the pdfs together that is we could able to merge any type of files that can be converted into pdf.
