Inspiration
Google had AR glasses that were removed from the market because there were too many accidents - we wanted to solve this safety issue.
What it does
It reacts to danger or certain situations by monitoring and analyzing your surroundings
How we built it
We built a program with python, looking for libraries able to detect objects in real-time through camera usage.
Challenges we ran into
In the beginning we had too many ideas, and in the end we had to choose one that actually has the biggest necessity, impact and a real-world application
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Our functioning python prototype that detects and labels everything (people, cars, etc.)
What we learned
To work together in a team, how to use and implement python libraries for Spatial Computing and to make abstract ideas come true
What's next for Eye Contact
- Scale by adding more sensors and cameras / 360º camera
- Use cloud computing
- Integrate future technologies like Smart Cities, Neuralink, etc.
- Personalize alerts
- Implement AI for assistance
- Support autonomous systems with real-time data
