Inspiration
We wanted to create a game similar to hole in the wall, but make it more difficult and interactive for the user.
What it does
The player has to move a ball across a table to protect it from oncoming obstacles.
How we built it
We built this using Unity and c# scripts. It is meant to be run on a metaquest 2 or 3.
Challenges we ran into
We had a lot of issues connecting the VR to the computer, buttons in our UI did not work or could not be clicked, and when we compiled the project on Android, many of the textures wouldn't load.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Despite never having used Unity or coding on a VR headset, we were able to create a functioning game with pleasant visuals.
What we learned
We learned the basics of Unity, simple VR optimization, and how to collaborate with other programmers via Github.
What's next for Space Ball
We would like to add a menu screen, skins for the user to unlock, more levels, longer levels, a retry button, and a victory/death screen.
